The paper path in this finisher is odd. The two black paddles or guides are not moving correctly.
This is causing jams. I did take the back panel and top off to watch. When it is done and it
moves those guides back, it makes noise like a toothed belt over a gear not turning.
In my frustration I failed to get a jam code. They will be closed until next week. But
the contact said call me if I get some info on this or the toner not recognized problem.
I did not see a sensor for the guides next to the belt. I did clean the sensors I found.
No luck. I tried the guide adjust from the book but could not detect any movement.
Has anyone had a problem with this finisher like this? I would be interested in knowing
more information about this. I did just download the manual for the MJ1101.
I can run pages out of the top exit without trouble and I ran a few stapled sets without
problems. Isn't it suppose to put 2-3 sheets on top of guides while it clears the hopper
then drop them down? That is the part that is not happening.
Any help would get my New Year off to a good start.
Thanks
