I have a Toshiba e-Studio 6530C with error CD81. Online describes it's waste toner auger locking up. I checked it and cleaned it looks fine. However when I start up the machine a grinding gear skipping noise is coming from the fuser unit as soon as it tries to print the paper stops in the fuser. Is CD81 a fuser problem or waste toner auger???

Re: Toshiba e studio 6530c CD81.
Fuser drive gears have an issue in that model. And could be dropping bits on the waste toner augers. did you clean the correct waste toner drive? You should have cleanrd the one in the transfer/duplex door

Re: Toshiba e studio 6530c CD81.
CD81 is second transfer waste, not drum waste, not primary transfer waste, not developer waste. There are three augers that transport the second transfer waste to the bottle in the rear of the right door. You'll probably find a pinch of woolly fibers at the transition from the horizontal auger to the vertical auger. It doesn't take much to stop up the system. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Toshiba e studio 6530c CD81.
As far as the grinding noise coming from the fuser, The 6530 is notorious for having the fuser drive gear (located in the copier) for getting stripped. It is real easy to replace. But I have also seen where the drive assembly needs rebuilt. I would go the easier route first. As far as the CD81 look real close at the gears driving the second transfer waste toner augerComment
