    ES 5520C

I have a 5520C that intermittently spits out a print that looks like the attached sample. Anybody have a clue what causes this?

Doe the pattern repeat at a recognizable interval? It's usually easier to tell on ledger/A3. It sort-of looks like a label trapped under the primary transfer cleaning blade. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Thanks for your reply Blackcat

That was the first thing I looked at BC. I pulled the cleaning unit and cleaned the blade, then inspected the belt. Then checked the drum modules and the coronas for sagging screens. The drums have 100K black and 55K color with new EPU kits when they were replaced.

They got 3 like this out of a couple thousand. I couldn't duplicate it. This is the only sample they had.

I had a similar problem on a Bizhub C652, but it was throughout the page and was a chip problem.

I'm leaning towards the laser at first. The lines are too evenly spaced in a small area to be a mechanical problem. I have tons of parts machines so I'll try that first.

It's certainly possible. If it's intermittent, you won't know right away if you've fixed anything or not. If it isn't a crisis yet, you might try reseating connectors to and from the laser, and the system board, especially any ribbon cables.

Maybe system board, maybe SRAM. I don't think there is any removable memory on the system board.

Let me know what you discover. =^..^=

Will do BC. Calling the customer tomorrow to see if it's recurred. Already have the laser pulled.
It might just be re seating the ribbon cables. I had one a couple of years ago throwing a laser code. One cable didn't appear to be fully seated. Re seated all of them, never coded since.
