    [Dead] Toshibe es5055C error F105

    Hello Again

I have a Toshiba es5055C and the HDD has failed again.Error F105 The machine has a total of 120k pages and is in a small office. I replaced the original HDD with a genuine 320GB ADI one 12 months ago (meter reading 90k pages) and it has also failed.
Is there another type of HDD to install or can I convert a standard HDD to this ADI type.

    Regards

No, it must be the Wipe Drive, but ... there is a new style HDD cable that is supposed to help the eS257-457 series machines.

At one point we had a 4555C that was consuming (1) HDD per month. As a desperation move, we replaced HDD cables, and it's been a full year since that last replacement. That's my suggestion, cables and another HDD. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I think the main gist of that update was simply making the cable longer so it was not stressed at the connector ends..i.e. pulling out slightly.

The cable is just a SATA HDD cable so...
