[Dead] Toshiba ES 2550C Stuck at "Checking System, Please don't Turn off"

This machine is stuck at "Checking System". I reloaded the firmware an no effect. I re-seated the connectors on the Main Board" Pretty much stuck.
Want to be sure I do everything I can before I stick a new HD in it.... Any help would be soo appreciated...

Re: Toshiba ES 2550C Stuck at "Checking System, Please don't Turn off"

I had a eS4555C (slightly larger relative in the same family) give this same "Checking system ..." message recently. It successfully rebooted, but I thought that the HDD was probably toast, so I tried to create a clone file. It would not do a clone file. After (5) attempts with different USB sticks, and tried from the webpage (still unsuccessfully), I was able to get a good clone file from another machine from the same family nearby. It was due for a black and color dev kit + drums.

When I arrived with the kits I had a F101_7 waiting for me. Not a huge surprise. I have the HDD in-stock, so that was the first part, to get the machine back functional. Then the full color PM.

I am assuming that even though my machine was temporarily functioning, some of the clone data on the HDD was corrupt. Just follow the procedure in the manual for HDD installation. If you do not have a good clone file to install you may need to re-set up any addressbook and scan templates, and re-enter the printer's IP address. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Format HDD & update firmware before replace new HDD

Check HDD SMART info via 5C mode or 08 code

HDD issues aside, try starting in 08 mode, then do a proper shutdown with the soft off button and restart.

Sometimes if the machine isn't shutdown before power off it can cause that issue.

Also try 5C mode and perform partition check.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

So what do you think of this... First off, This machine has an ADI HDD. I believe this has caused a lot of issues since the machine was new and I personally don't think it works well. Not to mention real expensive. I want to replace the ADI HDD with a regular HDD. There is only one part listed for the SYS board and SDRAM (SDRAM is where I believe the most of the software for the ADI option sits). Thinking I would Install the regular drive, Clear the SDRAM then format the drive then see if I can install the Firmware... Whatcha think ?

You could very well end up with a doorstop. I am not prepared to take that risk.

Were it me, I would install the Wipe Drive. We're using less of them since the firmware designed to fix the issue. =^..^=
