E-Studio 3505 ADF Scans Have Lines on Right Side

    Hello All,

My E-Studio has been working absolutely fantastic and its a great machine! However I'm encountering 2 issues where when we scan lines appear on the right side of scans. The page also seems angled to the right a bit. I cleaned the ADF glass.

    Test Scan:
    :DOC072423-07242023143222.jpg

Also when making copies through the ADF the bottom right corner gets bent and causes it to jam.

Any ideas on how to proceed if you were in my situation??

Any help at all is greatly appreciated!!!

Most probably your RADF needs skew and high adjustments as per manual, call an engineer
Defects are simple, our mind is complicated

The "line" looks like the trail edge of the page is being picked up. You can adjust ADF settings in 08 service mode.
As to folded corners, remove the ADF lid and check the mylars in the slit glass entrance section. I have seen quite a few of these where the adhesive fails and the mylar gets into the paper path. This will also cause skewing.

          Before you get too deep...

Take a piece of paper, draw arrows on each of the edges of the paper, like this.

          Untitled-1.jpg

Lay this on the glass. Make a copy. Yes, around the edges, it will be cut off. That's the void area, but what you
are looking for is a shift of the image. Ensure the image off the glass is pretty close to the original. If so, the issue
is most definitely the RADF unit.
Run a copy through the RADF and see how far off it is.
If it is close, it is most likely a misalignment of the RADF. It's very common, especially after a machine has been moved
around because that RADF is a nice "handle" to move the machine around.
From the rear of the machine, the right side hinge has a metal plate attached with two screw in studs.
If you remove it (MR-3031) (MR4000 has one on each hinge), then remove the two studs, on the left
side of the original area, front and rear, there may be two rubber plugs (sometimes they get lost if they aren't there)
Screw the metal studs into the available hole.
Now, On the frame where the RADF mounts to the machine, there are two screws on the left hinge that hold it to the
machine, and two on the right hinge that hold it to the machine. Loosen both sets of screws.
Now, gently lower the RADF and wiggle it around until the two studs placed on the machine, align with the holes on the
RADF. Once in place, go around to the back of the machine and tighten the two screws, one on the left, the other on the
right hinge that hold the RADF to the machine. Once tightened, lift the RADF and tighten the other two screws that mount
the RADF to the machine. Remove the two studs, attach them back to the metal bracket, and reattach it to the right RADF
          hinge.
Run another copy through the RADF to confirm the alignment.
If you still notice a bit of image issue, especially if you notice "dog ear" copies coming from the RADF, the height adjustment
          will need to be done.
On the rear of the machine, if you look above the RADF hinges, you will see an opening with a screw. One above each hinge.
this is the height adjustment. It's kind of a hit or miss but my easiest way is to look at the machine/RADF from the exit side to
see if it is level. Once adjusted properly, the dog ear/CQ issue could go away.
If the image is shifted, you'll need to find someone who knows how to adjust the timing of the RADF in the service mode.

What Rusty said. I can't improve on that. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

+2 this engineer definitely knows his stuff more than rest of the pack.
