this only works if 08/4768 is set on 1 or 2 ,this generate error code CD40, if customer somehow manage to skip replacing the waste box*

The bottle detection window must be clear/clean, not just empty.

A malfunctioning door interlock could cause this, if it's not detecting door open/door close.

And yes there is a photointerrupter that detects rotation of the waste bottle motor. If that photointerrupter gets dusty it cannot count rotations.

I've also seen new-defective waste bottles in which the mechanism just won't turn or is broken even before you install it. I remember one specific occasion in which the waste bottle front and back halves had no glue, and when I touched it it fell apart into two very messy pieces. I don't plan on repeating that one. =^..^=

Could also be a faulty or dirty optical sensor that reads the toner waste level through the clear portion of the TB.

Never had to reset anything with codes for WT bottle...

scroll to the end of the slide show movie.

make sure the slip clutch mechanism is not bound / rotation sensor filled with toner dust.
