Invalid address specified in from: field

I have an Estudio 230 that suddenly will not send scan to email. It had been working fine. Now it will error out with every attempt. The from address can be added from top access or the control panel with the same result. Any assistance is appreciated.

Ask their IT person if they changed anything with their network recently.
Maybe they added "user authentification" to send to the SMTP server, or changed its name/ip address. Or moved it to a different sub-net address and the e230 can't find it anymore.
More often then not, if the copier isn't locking up or giving an error code it turns out to be something they changed on the network and just overlooked how it would impact the copier.

Double check your "from address". I have added a leading or trailing "space" and got this same error. Address must be name@name.com. MFP does not care if it's a valid name or not, as long as all parameters are input correctly, it will try and hand the mail off to the mail sever. From this point is where you are going to get login or sever connect errors if you still have problems. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

go to top access and look at scan log for error message. Possibilities include change in SMTP IP address or authentication (did they change anything on the mail server), Change in DNS session info (Did they change router), Firewall changes (filters may be blocking emails from machine), etc.

It's most likely not a fault within machine.

Going along the same lines as Emujo, I have also accidentally entered in a comma , instead of a stop .

Go to the machine and check the scan log and post the error code back into this thread.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
