    Toshiba e-studio 310c

    Hello.
My machine has some blue background that apears easilly in more intensive work. Is it the Cyan Developer? Can anyone trade service manuals of this machine? Thanks in advance

had some magenta streaks appearing in copies once.. and didn't see them too much unless copying somethin with a lot of color.. found it to be clumps in dv unit gettin stuck between mag roller the doctor blade..and later found out it was gettin clumps in dv unit due to clumps in toner cartridge.. i suggest doing a mono-color copy of each color to see exactly which one is givin the problem and go from there..good luck..

Had the blue backgrounding here initially. Best way to solve it is to disassemble the EPU and clean all the contacts. In particular make sure you clean the drum pin, the contact inside the drum (cottonwool bud in alcohol) and the earth for the drum pin at the front end of the EPU. Then clean all the contacts on the charger unit and the connections at the back of the EPU which connects to the main copier body.

After all that the background should be gone and the print quality should be a #$@$load better.

Now that being said I still have Y backgrounding which appears to be a charge issue despite all the cleaning.

Dull lines on the prints are usually the Mag roller not getting covered in Dev properly. Solid colour lines are usually due to charge issues.

and I would also recommend cleaning the transfer belt contacts as well since after doing that all my backgrounding is gone now. I didn't even completely dismantle the transfer belt itself though I probably will soon.

There are four gold pins on the bottom of the belt which contact four spring plates on the tray of the transfer belt which should be cleaned, Clean the grounding plates (2 on front side, one on rear) which grounds the transfer belt to the frame.

Actually in order of ease to do:
Clean tranfer belt contacts (very easy to get to a fix)
Swap out C main charge unit to another colour (this can be done fairly easily if you get use to removing a charge unit without dismantling the EPU in YMCK order)
Clean the contacts on the drum pin, the end blocks, the grounding plate (this requires an almost full dismantle of the EPU)
Swap out Drum/Blade, Drum Pin, Charge, End Blocks until you can locate the problem (this can be combined with step above)

              Thanks

Thank you all. This problem was a bad toner motor that was working very slow. Replaced it and its OK now.

              Merry Christmas!
