Toshiba e Studio 600 Display locks up

I have a es 600 that has shown a finisher jam that wouldn't clear. Unable to get into user functions to shut down had to manually power down. When I rebooted the machine the display locked up in the start up screen. Had to disconnect the HDD, reboot, wait for HDD error message, turn off, reconnect HDD, then the machine came up normally. Any clues?

Haven't had a call back yet, but this has happened twice on this machine within a week

Well since this is the 3rd call coming up (maybe) I'd probably just replace the HDD and load FW. But if you can get away with it you could always just blow the HDD and reload FW and hope you don't get a 4th call. Whichever route you go I'd reseat all connections when/if you go back.

we had a Toshiba 600 doing the same thing. We ended up replacing the system board to correct the problem. Follow the instructions in the manual for all the stuff that has to be done when that board is replaced. It is not a board that you can just snap in and try without taking all those steps. Good luck
