[Misc] Toshiba estudio 5500c replace toner message

This machine ran out of black toner and when we replaced it it still asks for toner. Any ideas other than a bad cartridge?

Make sure you shake these up really good. Take it out shake it back and forth 20 times till you can feel the toner sliding back and forth really good. Turn it upside down and tap up and down the length of it in the middle where the auger is. These toners have Developer in them as well and they can get packed pretty well if they have sat for a while. Of course it might be a bad toner cartridge don't give up on it, they are NOT cheap as you may or may not know.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

Go to user functions; user; replace toner cartridge; and follow the steps to reset the counter.

I may have misread your post. 5500c is a different model I was thinking about 5520c.

I would suggest to remove black toner hopper and clean the sensor inside.
Sometimes sensor get dirty and crazy @ the same time

You need to check all tubes in the toner hopper, these machines are Ricohs and get clogged and wont allow the toner to go from the bottle to the dv unit
