e520 SERIES DRUM CLAWS MARKING COPIES

I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem, but I've never seen any Toshiba bulletins about it. We have several accounts where an e520 will leave three dots near the lead edge of copies. Seems to happen more often on 1st copy. These dots line up perfectly with the drum claws. It's as if they brush against the paper and leave a small amount of toner on the sheet. If I remove the claws the problem goes away, but of course the paper starts sticking to the drum. I've tried exchanging drum assemblies, claw assembly, even putting a bumper behind the claws so they can't bounce when the solenoid releases them. None of this works. We had a customer who complained a lot about this problem who had an e520. They upgraded to an e555 and it still happens! The problem comes and goes, and the dots can be very faint or very dark. I hate telling multiple customers there isn't a thing we can do about this issue. Anyone seen this issue and come up with a reliable solution?
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

    Models: e-STUDIO850 Series, 853 Series, 855 Series 855SE Series
Subject: Preventing Paper from Clinging to the Photoconductive Drum (E010)

    Overview

A stopper has been added to preventing paper from clinging to Photoconductive Drum and cause a paper jam (E010) from occurring.
    Detail

In some cases when printing begins, the center Drum Separation Finger may gently vibrate vertically if the Transfer Belt comes in contact with the Photoconductive Drum. If this should occur, the gap between the Drum Separation Finger and the Photoconductive Drum may slightly increase. In this condition, if paper clings to the photoconductive drum, the increased gap could allow paper to jam at the Drum Separation Finger and cause a paper jam (E010) to occur.

To prevent the center Drum Separation Finger from vibrating, a Stopper has been added to it (shown below).

Installation procedure to add the Stopper.

    (1) Remove the shaft of the drum separation finger from the cleaner unit.
    • e-STUDIO855 Series: Refer to "10.6 Disassembly and Replacement / [G] Drum separation finger" in the Service Manual.
    • e-STUDIO850 Series: Refer to "11.6 Disassembly and Replacement / [G] Drum separation finger" in the Service Manual.

    (2) Remove the weight screw from the drum separation finger (center).

    (3) Attach the stopper to the drum separation finger (center) and secure it with the weight screw.

You, sir, are a saint. Thanks for the info! I'll be ordering these parts on Monday.
