[Misc] Estudio 230 Paper Tray selection problem

This machine has a fax trying to print on letter R paper and is not recognizing the letter r paper drawer. Also when you hit user functions > options the paper tray option is dimmed out and you cannot select it. Also the fax trying to print ot on letter r paper cannot be deleted and also (For some reason) stored in the print buffer of the copier... Weired deal, I messed with it for at least an hour...

No sure if this will help. I had a Copystar machine doing something similar, asking for paper when that size was available.

Can you delete the fax print job?
If no, can you clear the fax image memory?
If no, make sure that auto paper select is ON and that all paper trays are set to auto size detect.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Estudio 230 Paper Tray selection problem

By default all Toshiba copiers print faxes from the A4R/LetterR unless a drawer is specified as fax or all drawers are set A4/Letter.

The icon is grayed out because, as you said the copier is waiting to print the fax, you need to repair the -R tray first.

As a fax is considered a legal document, you cant easily delete it, you can as a last resort format the HD.

Unless you customer needs a dedicated fax tray, change it to a standard (non -R) tray.

Another option to printing is to forward the faxes to email/folder, or use this method to backup the faxes in case you have this issue again.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the restraints

I've encountered this problem on e352 where the fax job is loaded to memory, it will auto print using the cassette paper resulting paper jam...
Even I've tried format the HDD but still the same...
At last I've performed following code using 08 mode to change the paper size on drawer then only the fax job print out successfully.

08-225 Paper size for upper drawer
08-226 Paper size for lower drawer

For what it's worth, is it trying to print from the Top Tray? Is the Tray lifting? Often the Tray Lift Gearbox (cream coloured unit behind the power inlet assy) will break teeth off a gear or the shaft holding the gear preventing the tray from lifting and also causing the problems you have described.

Didi2005 is correct. If there is a fax job in there you can't do anything else until that job is done with. It won't even let you delete it. So the only way is to either change the paper size in 08 mode or initialize fax board which will cause all your address and setting's in the fax to be lost.
