Blank copies on Toshiba es2330c

Hello

I had a customer who could not print or access the top access screen of the copier. A rookie tech replaced the system board with no change. He then found the the data port had gone bad. Now the machine will print the meter sheet and calibration page but sends out blank copies when he tries to copy. I found out that the scanner does not move and the scanner light does not come on when he makes a copy.

I had him restart the copier and the light did come on and the scanner moved during warm up. Has anyone seen this before?

Did the tech upgrade the firmware when replacing the system board? and swap the rom chips over?

He moved the chip from the old board to the replacement. He did not have firmware.

A firmware update would be the next thing I would do, might have different firmware on the system board to the rest of the machine. Would usually come up with an error code though.

If this is like the 3510c series have him switch the memory to another slot.

The 3520c had 2 memory banks. One controlled print the other copies. If the memory was in the wrong slot (each bank had 2 or 3 slots) then that feature would have blank copies.

Your problem is with the IMG PCB located behind the SYS PCB, physically remove the IMG PCB from the LGC PCB, clean the connector contacts on both boards & reseat - it will work.
P.S. refit the Original SYS PCB also Update FW after confirming Unit is operating correctly.
