Fix that was not in the book

Toner not reconized, sound familar, ran into it the other day, new toner and re-flashing firmware did no good, not much in the book, FYI or here even, fellow tech told me to pull that little cover with the springs on it, where toner cart makes contact, sometimes that causes problems, well I got everything out of the way, IPU, or drum and dev unit, fuser unit, took off the front door, oh yes, let me add it is a ES 355 I was working on, reached in there and took off the one screw, and popped it off the locater pins on the rear frame, un-pluged it from the harness its attached to, pop out the little PWB and there are some gold looking square contact areas for the springs to make contact, cleaned them, light scrubbing with scotch brite and some contact cleaner, wiped a film of corosion X over it, to keep it from having any more problems, and put it all back together, and bingo, it works, and just for grins and giggles, try the other toner cart, that thought was bad, it works also...great day in the morning, fixed the machine and saved a toner cartridge.
Hope this helps some one out out there

    Cool.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

Nice work. Thanks for sharing. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
