    [Error Code] Toshiba CP6570 C27 and C28

    Hello,
In my office there is a broken Toshiba CP6570 (similar to CD4580, CD5570 and CD8070), that keeps me busy. Thanks to your help I got rid of the F10 error but no I am facing a C28 or C27.

The technician (not from Toshiba) said it is FUBAR and we should buy a new one. So I started by replacing the Harddrive with a old one from my parts bin (5 GB IBM).
The original one had bent pins, I think the technician abused it. So after initializing the harddrive with your helpful posts with [0][8] + PWR and [6][9][0] + [2] I got a bit further. (That was really good thanks )
The Harddrive works I can hear it running and accessing, but the copier is still not running.

The Printer now show me either a c28 or c27 Error.
If I move the mirror carriage by hand to the sensor position (left, paper exit) I get C27. And if I move it out of the position towards the paper feed tray and start it up I get a C28 error.
When turning on the machine normally the Carriage does not move and after some time I get the error. How can I solve this? Does this mean that the SDV and SCM are shot?
Or are there other sensors? I Only found the 3 lead sensor (purple) beneath the glass. (Can I short it?)

If I enter the input check mode [0][3]+pwr and manage to run the test mode It seems to work somehow?
I can run the SLG-PC fan and the Scan-Fans one and two. I key in the 261 code to operate the Scanning motor.
It and moves some milimeters (fraction of an inch) with a loud humming noise (depending on the selected speed, lower = louder) forth and back with the second hit of the button.
So as far as I understand it this should mean that it is not totally fubar. But should it move more? oh and the scan lamp works too (263) (it's something)

So by only reading in this very helpful forum I got so far, I am not ready to take the "asus repair kit

Hello fellow copy machine repair freaks

I got a little bit further.
I unplugged the carriage motor and simulated a power on cycle by moving the cradle out of the sensor and back and BINGO the machine stayed on and even the scan lamp came on. Then I got the c26 code.
(but that could be because I was blocking a sensor)

so it is not totally bad.
