[Misc] Which traing for new tech?

Our delivery guy has been given the oppertunity to become a tech and we are starting him in the shop. My question is...which would be the very first online training he should take.? Dont see anything basic on website...

Yes, the A+ or the Network + would be a good start.

The first thing I would do is send him out with one of your other engineers, get him to learn the basics first.

Ditto...at least two weeks with an experienced tech. He will know at the end of two weeks if he can handle the load and what training he needs first. It's not an easy job to learn all on your own.

When I first became a field tech, my service manager had me doing nothing but PM's and parts calls on machines for about 6 months. I learned a lot about the machines during that time. A network certification is nice but not absolutely necessary. I did the Toshiba mindbuilder courses and they gave me a great foundation to learn networking and how to fix connectivity problems.
sigpic No! we never do that with the copier.
