    [Error Code] e-studio 2330c with CA00 error

    Hi,

I have this one Toshiba in my area that is showing "CA00", I'm Ricoh trained so I have idea why this code is happening, can anyone help me out on this please?
I know it has something to do with colour registration, but that's it!
Also if anyone could send me the service manual that would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks.

    Re: e-studio 2330c with CA00 error

Like most color copiers, the eS2330C prints a bunch of "V" shaped color patterns to check the color registration alignment. Most of the time when you see this error, one of the colors is nearly entirely missing, or the primary transfer belt is not cleaning properly.

So the simplest way to diagnose this is:
    1) Open the front door, remove the blue screw from the right end of the blue transfer handle and rotate the handle 90 degrees to lift off the primary transfer belt.
    2) At the front left remove the transfer waste tube, and the transfer belt cleaner unit.
    3) From the right door unplug the transfer belt assembly and remove it to the table.

Now take a look at the residual images on the belt. Is there a particular color that is missing? In a general sense it could be caused by main charge, worn drum, poor developing, or loss of drum drive. But most often one of the developers is dead. We always replace drum and dev-kit together. The dev-kit includes scorotron, grid, scorotron cleaner pads, drum blade, and a new pad for the laser slit glass cleaning wand.

You'll want to glance at the manual, as to which simulations you'll need to do, depending on what parts you've changed. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Thanks for the info!

I'm going back Monday & will try what you sugested!
This issue is still on going, so we're really stuck!

i'd like to clean the patch or density sensors, how do I access them to clean? Do I need to remove the transfer belt etc? How does this come out exactly?

Can some one send me the service manual, I dont mind paying for it if needed.

      Thanks

When the primary belt is out, the patch sensors are nested in the black plastic crosspiece just below the secondary transfer. Just open the shutter to view each sensor. Just so you know, it's not usually dirty patch sensors. It's usually cause by incomplete development of one or more of the colors. =^..^=

          Hi :

The previous post is correct except when you try to take out the transfer belt cleaner. The blue handle should be left in the horizontal position and the belt cleaning blade should then be removed. Then take out the locking screw and move the handle to the vertical position for transfer belt removal. This also entails removing a screw on the front side pivot point of the duplex unit door. Once the screw is removed the duplex unit door can be moved to the slightly to the right which will allow it to be parked in a completely horizontal position. At this point the belt assy has one connector to unplug. Then the belt can be slid out of the copier. Again make sure the belt cleaning blade is removed FIRST. Also there is usually a screw that has to be removed to remove the belt cleaning blade tube assy.

I went to this one today. All colours are printing & I can see the patch patens on the belt.

I couldn't see how to hinge the right hand door far enough down to allow room for the belt unit to slide out!

I removed the small inner door but this didn't help.

I've booked this for Toshiba to look at.

Oops! Did I forget the duplex door?

There is a locking screw through the front swivel post for the duplex door. Remove that screw, Swing the duplex door until the rivets align with the keyhole, and the duplex door can be slid to the rear. Once it's free you can hook those rivets into another set of keyholes that supports the door in a flatter position. Now you can get the belt unit to clear. =^..^=
