[Jamming] Toshiba eStudio 2330c Color, LOUD Thumping Noise, Intermittent Jams

I have a Toshiba eStudio 2330c Color copier with a LOUD Thumping Noise which according to the previous tech, "sounds" like it may be coming from right side fuser area and intermittent jams. Copy Quality ok, no blurrs or smears. My junior tech ran about 50 pages ok, then jams. Ran 10 more, jam. Customer does not want to buy ANY parts so the tech never removed the fuser to check any further.

Thumping noise gets louder the more it's ran. Entire machine is sketchy ( refurb machine from unknown internet source ) Client want the Service Mgr to come out and re-evaluate.

I have ZERO knowledge of this particular model, but from reading the service ticket, I will probably find something in the fusing asbly.

If there are any ongoing noise issues with this model, please enlighten me. Any input whatsoever, is GREATLY appreciated !!

OK...once I was in front of machine along with the previous technician, the client now admits that the machine had been parked for about 2 years without use, then they turned it on and got loud noises.

So, anyway I removed fuser assembly and found flat spot on press roller as well as broken / badly worn fuser coupler / idler gear. I swapped the gear to the "good end" and it ran like a charm.

This is not a model we service or have regular parts support for, but at least the issue has been nailed down with this mystery-history-refurb machine and the junior tech I accompanied has learned a little about guerrilla repair tactics.
