I have an older xerox 4112 (purchased around 2008), that as soon as it boots up I get error code 127-342. Some digging around online has revealed that the error is "Job Template Monitor Failure". Unfortunately I don't really know what that means. I have tried to find a service manual for it but have had no luck.
I was able to find a manual for a DC250 color machine, and from what I understand the DC250's are similar to the 4112, just the color version.
According to the DC250 manual I am to "Check the connectors and wiring on the ESS PWB." More digging around, and I think I have found the ESS board. If I am correct is the board the ethernet plugs and hard drive plug into. I have tried removing the 5 rams sticks that look like laptop ram, and re-seating them. (That idea came more from a computer technician stand point rather than a copier tech stand point.)
I am nervousness to remove the piece that looks like ram stick with a watch battery on it.
I also tried re-seating the power and IDE connector for the harddrive, but still no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas on this or is my ESS board dead?
