xerox 6204

i have a xerox 6204 with a communications error 123-314 i have tried to recover the backup as per PWS that did not work changed control panel did not work any ideas please let me know

Was there a firmware upgrade prior to this code arising? If so, you may just need to upgrade the UI firmware.

If you do need to replace the controller, we offer them far less expensively than buying the main board from Xerox. We also offer Accxes controller upgrade kits at nearly the same cost as the controller.

there was no firmware upgrade power went down and machine came up with 123- 314 error

Probably corrupt boot files or corrupt partitions on hdd.
Before to replace controller mainboard you need to do some checkings.

any one knows how to enter service mode in this machine? i read the manuals.. but cant seem to find how to enter service mode...

here's the manual for that machine to those who needed.. mmmm i think i cant post download links

Just keep pressing 0 button on the panel and wait for 5seconds and while keep pressing 0 button press start button and you will enter to the service page.
