510 dp wide format axial line

I have a xerox 510dp wide format that has a axial line the width of 1inch.
its always about 6inches from the lead edge.
i gave the machine a cleaning but I could not see any cause.

    thankyou

This is an unusual problem for the 510 model. Could you describe what the line looks like? Is this an area where the image is blurred? Is there background the width of the line? Is it solid black?

You mention that the band appears six inches from the lead edge. Is this true regardless of the length of the print? If you had two different prints one say 24" and the other 36" long, would the band still appear six inched from the lead edge in both?

      I only printed 36x24 images
      1. It's always in the same position approx 6inches from lead edge
      2. It runs the full width of the 36inches
      3. The band is on the gray side, approx 1inch thick
      4. The text under the band looks to be ok...

Very odd... Quite frankly, this is a new one on me. The fact that the band is 6" from the lead edge makes me think it has to do with something that happens in the Xerographics at that moment in the print process. What that might be is a mystery though. For background, one would typically check developer bias. You might want to monitor the developer bias as the print is being made. Look for a temporary change in voltage that coincides with the lead edge getting to the fuser.
