    12" x 24" paper

On the C8170 I put 12 x 24 paper in the bypass, set up a custom size, printed the pdf and it comes out the left tray reduced in size. I used different settings in the acrobat driver, running win 10 from a pc, tried from a mac, same problem. This should be able to run up to 56" paper. Has anyone tried it? The copier has 121 software, the latest.

I'm afraid I can't specifically answer your question, but I have used many Xerox models over the years and I have found that occasionally, certain custom sizes just don't want to "work"... No real identifiable reason, just no luck.

A couple things to check and try:

    1) Try reversing the measurements, if possible. I have had occasion where if I put the measurements in what I would consider "backwards" it suddenly accepted it.

    2) Make sure the banner printing on the C8170 can do banner lengths at 12" width, and not only at narrower widths. This is a gotcha I could easily see Xerox doing. Up to 13 x 19 paper, but for banner widths, up to 11.7 x 56.

    3) In case it is a size "bug" and 12x24 really should be fine but isn't, try very slightly different sizes, like 11.9 x 23.9. You should be able to compensate for the small difference and the machine won't throw a "wrong size" jam/error for just .1 inches on a custom size.

    Good luck.

Thanks, I see what you are saying. I was wondering if anyone has ever used this feature. It didn't jam. The paper was rough cut from a larger sheet. I don't know where you'll find that size paper, don't want a ream of it.
It's the formatting/resizing that I am having issues with, using acrobat and the windows driver. I might try a different program...
