I had an E2 error a few months ago and it took me a while to figure it out.
The problem was a very small piece of paper over registration sensor, I had to remove cutter and toner,
then I was able to unscrew registration sensor and remove paper. Reassemble.

Glad to see you sorted it, sorry i didn't get back to you earlier. That's a fairly common one do yourself a favor though if the big one has split the small one will do the same thing in the not too distant future. When you replace the little one make sure it's tight on the shaft, I've had a few lately that have a small amount of play on the shaft and it causes a small tag on the edge of prints because it doesn't cut cleanly. A small shim fixes it though.
