    WorkCentre Pro 416P_Please help.

    This is supposedly a re-badged Toshiba e-Studio 16.

    My current problem follows:

Customer claimed to have removed a paper missfeed from the upper cassette. While looking for the missfeed they opened the right cover panels (Duplex tray and right cover). The machine now constantly displays a "Close Right Cover" indication.

Opening both covers and then closing the right cover resets the display to read "Close Duplex Tray", but as soon as you close the Duplay tray the "Close Right Cover" display re-appears.

The microswitch for that cover checks good both with continuity and voltage: 23.7vdc.
I have been unable to find any slivers of paper anywhere in the upper paper feed section and there's no missfeed/jam indication displayed.

I ran the "Sensor Check" but all checked good. Is there anyway of doing a general fault reset? Can this fault be reset from service mode and, if it can, how to go about getting into it?

Thank you in advance for any insight/suggestions.

Hi. Try first to pres stop and eight together to see if an error code is displayed.

Pressing Stop and #8 together doesn't display anything but: "Close right side cover". Should these buttons be pressed as soon as the machine is turned on or wait until after the message is displayed?

I went back to this location again today and checked for some paper that might have been missed in the feed section, but found nothing. I did notice that the "Close right side cover" does reset until the Duplex Cover is closed, then the "Close right side cover" displays again. It is almost impossible for the right cover to be open when the duplex cover is closed. Is there a way to do a memory reset/fault reset on this machine?

The Tray 2 Jam Removal Door is sometimes overlooked until one bends down to eye level with the Door. It is somewhat hidden from view by the Bypass Tray above it.

Troubleshoot Tray 2 or 3 Right Side Door circuit(s).
