    5334 Wouldn't close----

When I arrived there was the metal plate ( I think it's the isolation baffle for transfer unit) was laying next to fuser and stopping machine from closing. I assume customer had jam and knocked it out of position. I haven't worked on this type of machine in a while and unsure of how to install this properly. I tried several positions and I either get partial imaging, fault messages and when take out and run circuit breaker trips.
I have done calls on these types over the years starting with the 5018 but never really focused on transfer assembly where I would know how this plate is installed. I have service manual on cd but doesn't really show how this is positioned. Parts diagram not helpful. Any help is appreciated . A picture would be great Frank

I don't know ho to save the page with diagram to a folder and send to you as it is on cd and view thru program(omni Browser) and there does not appear to be an option to save to folder. Also for that specific part called isolation baffle there is no part number listed. In the diagram it is listed as item #6. . I can take a picture when I go back to machine. I am goig to call another customer who is local and has a similar machine and arrange to look at his machine to determine how to install part. Thanks for your reply Gregory. Frank

If it is the long silver piece kind of shaped like a canoe then I know what you're talking about. It kind of just snaps in place in the black piece. Or are you talking about the long silver flat piece that is the entrance guide to the fuser that snaps in place at the rhs of the fuser and should not be touching the transfer ass. at all?

I believe it is the first one you mention and hopefully a local customer still has their machine and will let me take a look tomorrow or Monday. The other customer is 45 minutes away and I want to wait til I have a pretty good idea of how to install properly. Thanks for responding. Frank

I inserted the piece into th transfer unit on fuser side as it slides into positionunder black ridges on transfer unit and the other end acts as an entry to fuser guide-plate. Had to rewire transfer also. All is okay now except has line from damaged copy cartridge belt. Thanks for input. Frank
