    DC5000AP Fuser problem

    Hi to all,
I have a DC 5000AP that prints OK on all paper stock except when I use a SRA3 300g coated paper, the prints are not glossy uniformly. I get one band glossy, one band matt, one band glossy, one band matt & so on. See the illustration below.
I have change the fuser belt assy, the donor roll assy, the external heat roll assy, all 3 thermistors & the heat roller.
    Can anybody help?

I am not a Xerox engineer but I have seen this on canon colour machines.
the glossing is probably done by applying roller which is clutch controlled and it looks like its engaging and dis-engaging

i vote on the paper. Best you could try is , try printing the same paper on a DC2045 or DC5000 and confirm before you change more parts
a machine is only as good as your tech : source:screwtape ; the scary one

The customer is using colortech paper & I dont have any DC5000 or DC2045 to check the paper.
The thing that I have notice is after we received a new batch of fuser oil that this problem arrise.
This new fuser oil is not the same color as the old fuser that we use to have.
The new oil is light yellow where as the former oil we use to put in the machine was dark brown.

Is the matt-gloss distance every time the same? What is the distance between two gloss or to matt bands?
I believe that fuser oil can cause this.
But if it is banding then it may be someting different.
It can be the 2nd backup roll.
Or the fuser belt idle gear(PL 8.7 item 4) can be worn, to check it, remove the front fuser cover, close the machine latch and front doors run some prints. Then open the front door without unlatching the drawer and look at the fiser belt assy, fuser belt should be running at some constant slow speed. This will distribute even temperature throughout the belt.
