Xerox WC 4118 ADF stalls document two inches past scan slit.

Stretched characters and blurred lines. Apparently the ADF exit rollers do not pull it through. Removed ADF assy and cleaned exit spring clutch. Runs better but still stretches. Do I need the wrap spring on the exit shaft?

Not sure this matches your problem....
I had a 4118, that was jamming. The ADF hinges were worn out and the ADF was not fully closing, it was hovering about a half inch from the closed position. Basically, the paper was not returning back up into the ADF after passing the scanning slit glass. The ramp was not in alignment with the ADF, thus the paper was not going up, once the sensor timed out it just stalled, and the machine had jam condition.

Replacing the hinges fixed this machine.

Does anyone know the part number for the wrap spring on the ADF exit shaft? I can't find it at PR or parts drop?
