Re: Xerox 250 external fiery restore
You can find serial number on the back side of Fiery.
If it starts with prefix WYM it's Non-RoHS, with BMK RoHS.

Do you have original CD's with your Fiery?
Did you try to attach monitor and see what happens?Leave a comment:

Disk Version is 1.1. Not sure about ROH vs non. When I reboot with the server software disk the Fiery boots to a flashing cursor and then stalls. Since we have a new HDD could the disk be looking for a partition to start loading?Leave a comment:

Re: Xerox 250 external fiery restore
You cannot restore your fiery because you replaced HDD. Which means you have blank hdd. Restore image is stored on your crashed hdd.
You'll need system software CD's to reload software on new hdd.
As I understand you have EXP 250 Fiery.Which software version is your fiery? Is it RoHS or NonRohs?Leave a comment:

Xerox 250 external fiery restore
HDD crashed. Replaced HDD and now trying reload system software from the restore disk. System cannot find boot sector. Error message is "unable to read superblock".
Tried this procedure from another post for an X12.
To restore from backup do the following:
1) Power down the Fiery and wait 10 seconds.
2) Press and hold the 4th key on the right side on the UI (user interface) and power on the Fiery.
3) Continue to hold the 4th key until the UI reads "Install Software", "Restore Backup", "Install Option" and "Start System".
4) Select "Restore Backup"
5) Select "Yes" at the following question "Restore backup configuration?"
6) This will take approximately 15-20 minutes and the Fiery will reboot 3-4 times.
7) Once the Fiery comes up to Idle you will need to "Run Setup" and reconfigure the settings. In another post it said to hold down 4th button on server while booting
