    Shifted Lines on Phaser 8560

Hello and thank you in advance for taking the time to look at my thread. I am new to posting on forums so please bear with me.
I have been having a problem with my Xerox Phaser 8560. Specifically, whenever anything is printed (Internally or from a Computer), the machine seems to take lines of ink and shift them to the right. It does not seem to add any extra ink at all, but just moves them. Also, I have noticed that it is always the same distance that it moves the ink. This problem started after the maintenance kit was replaced. Before the maintenance kit was replaced, ink had started to build up on the drum and was not being cleaned off. I have already checked for ink spillage in any places I could get to. The pre-heater unit was replaced a few weeks earlier. I don't know if it is relevant to my problem.
Please see the image for an example of my problem.Picture 186.jpg

This is most likely due to oil contamination from an improperly stored or mishandled maintenance kit causing oil to spill from the maintenance kit roller and housing.

The drum's Y-Axis encoder disc can become contaminated with oil. When this occurs the encoder can not take a proper reading of drum rotation and this causes the image quality problem you are having. If the contamination is not too bad, you may be able to clean the oil from the disc. Oil can also contaminate the drum pulley and Y-Axis belt and Y-Axis motor. Clean these parts using isopropyl alcohol. Access the Y-Axis encoder disc by removing the right hand cover.

There are other causes for this but due to the fact that it just started after installing a new maintenance kit, the above is the most likely reason and solution.

The encoder disk is located behind the right hand cover at the end of the drum behind the fan. It looks like a thin clear plastic disc with very tiny hash marks going around the edge that is read by a sensor at the disc's bottom.

The motor , belt and drum pulley are located behind the left cover and easy to find.
