    [Error Code] Xerox Phaser 7500 - 41-340

I have a Xerox Phaser 7500, where the customer replaced the fuser unit. When they turned it on, the machine says "engine failure". A search through the history reveals 41-340 error. If I replaced the MCU board, do you think I should insist on a new fuser before plugging it in? Could something else be causing the error?

I doubt that a fuser could be the cause of an NVM data fault.

Before replacing the MCU I would try an IOT NVM initialization including writing back the adjustment NVMs.
Make sure correct version of IOT firmware is installed.
If non of that helps, try a new MCU.

EEEK. I forgot to mention something that seems pretty important. I can't shut the machine down. I turn the power button off, the display says something like "shutting down", I hear a noise from inside as if a motor is starting, runs for a split second, and then stops, repeats itself, over and over again, but the machine never goes further than that. It just stays on until you pull power.

First, make sure the cooling fan in the print controller is working. If not replace it. Next, try to reload system software.
If problem persists replace the following.
          1st the EEPROM
          2nd the MCU PWB.
