    [Error Code] Xerox WC 6605

    Hi everyone, I am new to your site so I hope I am posting in the correct area.

    I have a work centre 6605 and recently replaced the Cyan toner, however the one I got would not work.
    I was getting an "Invalid Cyan Toner Cartridge"

    So I went direct to Xerox and bought from them the genuine one, tried it and got the same message.
    When I called them they said they actually give me the wrong one, even though it would slot into position.

    They then give me the correct part number, so I bought that one.
    Tried it this evening but still getting the same error message.

    Has anyone come across this previously and if so any way I can fix it?
    Printer is about 9 months old.

    The front and rear door interlock switches can cause the machine to report incorrect toner messages. Check the switches and make sure the front and rear doors are closed properly . Upgrade the software to the latest level.

      Thank you for the advice Flash.
      I checked both front and back covers to ensure they are closing properly.
      They appear to be. If I remove the cartridge, and close the front cover I then get the message to replace the cartridge.

      If I put the old one back in, I get the message to replace toner.

      I also update the firm-wave to the latest and tried again, but still getting the same message "Invalid cyan toner cartridge"
      Do you have any further advise?

        There are 2 different types of toners. "Sold" and "Metered". Is it possible you are using the wrong one for what your machine is set up to use?

          Thank you Exok,

          That could very well be the issue. I was told I needed p/n 106R02237 which is not working.
          Now I am told I need p/n 106R02229

          So I will order that and see how it works out and let you know.

            I am also having this particular issue, except with a Yellow Drum. has this issue been resolved with switching to a non-metered drum?
