Are new MZ/RZ drums compatible with older RZ units?

Hi,
I'm having trouble finding out if the new MZ/RZ drums, the one's that say "Riso Z" with a purple label, are compatible with RZ390 that's drum case says "Riso RZ" with an all white label. Figured they are different but since they are both in the "RZ" family thought there might be a chance they are backwards compatible. If anyone can shed some wisdom on this I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Did you ever end up finding the answer to this? I have an MZ770 and an RZ790 which have compatible drums with each other, and I'm looking at an RZ200AW but can't figure out if it's drums will also be compatible.

Well I can only speak for the US versions but here is what I know:
RZ 590 & 390 Compatible
MZ 790, 990 & RZ 990 Compatible
RZ 1090 & MZ 1090 Compatible
EZ 590, 591, 390 & 391 Compatible
RZ drums are not compatible with EZ, but can be converted EZ. Special kit required.
MZ 790 can be converted to MZ 1090. Special kit required.

You can only USE EZ390 and EZ590 drums in an EZ590....not EZ220 drums.

We have these kits in stock for the RZ to EZ conversion, but it is not that simple....
You must have an RZ machine and an EZ machine to complete the conversion.
Without both machines, even with the kit, it won't work.

We are the largest supplier of USED RISO drums (over 400 in stock) and spare PARTS (most models) in the U.S.
We take drums in on trade and we buy USED and NON-WORKING drums.
