put in a new ink cartridge. if you did and still get message, you may have a faulty cartridge. especially if using generic. try another cartridge and cleaning your gold colored contacts on your print carriage behind your cartridge. if this doesn\'t do it, it will need to be serviced.
If you open the printer cover and move the printer carriage
to the left you can see the rubber pad where the cartridge rests & the little rubber blade the cleans the tip of the print cartridge.
just to the left of the pad is a opening. at the bottom of the opening
is the out of ink sensor. usually there is a build up of dried ink
blocking the sensor.
you can GENTLY remove the ink with a cotton swab that is
wet (only water).
this might take a few swabs. if the build-up is extreme you
might get a big chunk that snaps off. try to remove it if possible.
the ink is water soluable so only use water.
