    [CQ] Brother MFC 9840

Customer installed a compatible black cartridge. Within a day they got double image/ gousting. The goust image is very very light. It is prior to the fuser. Installed another compatible from another supplier and still the same thing. Now, get this. If you copy/print in color mode an all black original, it looks great. Copy/print the same original in black mode you get the gousting. The gousting is at 75mm. There is a post about this that said they had the same issue using OEM cartridge. Replaced with another OEM cartridge and all was good. Checking to see if anyone may have had this issue?

All the time...! Have the customer replace all supplies back to OEM and then you can begin troublseshooting. These are common issues but you need OEM supplies to addequetely troubleshoot and prevent the same from happeneing. Could be a drum a fuser or both. Already ruined by the bad toners that are in there...

I put in an OEM cartridge and that fixed it. The 2 compatibles I used were from diffrent sources, but they both displayed the same problem. The reason, with compatibles, it did not show the problem when copying/printing in color mode, was because in color mode it does not use the black, only colors to produce black.

This usually happens if you where given a bad quality toner by your supplier.
