    Do you mean an E-ring?
Like the ones on an iR5000 pressure roller?
A flat bladed screwdriver is good enough.

Ering or Jesus ring, its the ring that holds the gears & such on the fixing roller. Can I just pry it off with the flat head I dont want to break it, what is this special tool called?

          C Rings

I purchased my C ring spreader at ACE Hardware. The ones made in China are no good (the tips break), buy USA. They come with a variety of tips that you can put in the jaws and are made of hardened steel so that the tiny pins won't break. They can also be reversed for compressing instead of spreading.

              It's called a C-clip because it's short for Circlip.
Look for pliers called circlip pliers
