Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".
Sorry its an IRC 6800 and if I turn the green handle the rollers move, I removed the gray cover and cheat the door. I can see the rollers moving during the warm up process the motor moves, when it gets to the last stage of the warm up process it goes into the error code
Product : imageRUNNER C5800 / C6800 Title : E014 Error :
As a result of inspection, the following was found: When the fixing roller is rotating, friction resistance occurs between the C-ring and spacer on the rear side of the fixing roller. This resistance detaches the fixing roller, and applies a load to the fixing motor, consequently causing the symptom. To prevent this, a rib has been added to the bore of the spacer.
Workaround :
Check the shape of the spacer on the rear side of the fixing roller. If the spacer has no rib, replace it with a new one having a rib.
Note: When the fixing roller is replaced with a new one or detached for service work, check the shape of the spacer. If it does not have the rib, replace it with a new one.
- E014-0001 can be displayed when a lock state is not identified for 1 sec or more after motor start-up.

The IRC 6800 was plagued with flat spots occurring on the Fuser rollers which causes resistance which in turn gives the error. The only way to fix it is to replace the roller. If you are not using the copier for along period of time it would be advisable to release the pressure off the fuser rollers as this will prevent flat spotting the roller.
When you get a new iRC6800 fixing assembly..it comes with 2 pressure release screws attached for transport.
Recently we had one of our techs forget to remove these screws when he replaced the fuser and to our surprise the fuser ran without an issue...despite the nip pressure being obviously wrong.
We jokingly said to our service manager that we should go around to all our 6800's with flat spotting issues and put the 2 pressure release screws back into the units.....guess what....he thought it was a great idea...so that's what we do.
Also...when you refurb the units make sure that you also replace the orange cleaning roller in the web assembly.
This roller flatspots at the same time as the UFR and will cause the flat spot to transfer to the new UFR pretty damned fast if you don't replace it.
Thank you guys once again with your help I was able to solve that error code issue I changed a roller on one machine and the others I changed the Fixing rotation to 3.1
these m/c's are notorious for flat spots on the fuser roller causing this code, also when you are replacing the fuser roller, check the press roller as that can get flat spotted as well.
If the customer is not running any heavy stock, turn the nip adjustment screws counterclockwise about 2 turns...this will decrease the fusing pressure and along with lower temp table and idle rotations you will get a lot more copies out of the fuser rolls. Clean all that waxy stuff from the thermistors and heat-adding roll when changing the rolls.
Hi Oze, I used to do this to a couple of 8500's I had in my school system print shop, I used to get about 3x life out of my fusers, without galling the pressure roller shafts. I have a 5870 that I will be going back to soon for a flat spot rebuild,,, might just give this a try,as the fuser is currently at 40%
