CANON IR-3530

I have a canon ir-3530 that is getting an intermittant E110-002 error. I have replaced the laser unit, dc controller, middle feed ass'y. Checked interlock for laser shutter, reg roller ground. Any info on this problem would be great.

Not seen this model but on the 3570 & 4570 this code & subcode can be caused by bad contact between the reg roller and grounding spring. Worth a look inside door and under drum

Light Copies / Error Codes E100-0001 & E110-0002 : iR4570 Series & iR3045 Series

Symptom

• <LI type=disc>Light copies on the iR3045 & iR4570 series copier. <LI type=disc>Error code E100-0001.
  - E100-0001 can be displayed when the BD error occurs 50 times or more after this machine has become ready for image formation (i.e. the scanner motor is ready for rotation, and the laser has been turned ON).
• Error code E110-0002.
  - E110-0002 can be displayed when the speed lock signal indicates a deviation 10 times in sequence at intervals of 10 msec after the signal has indicated a locked state.

Cause

1. One problem that caused the light copies was found to be the laser shutter being out of place.
2. Hook [2] for Shutter link [1] of Laser Scanner is broken.

Action
To check the laser shutter remove the left side cover and the inner metal plate that covers the laser assembly.



Check the laser shutter assembly and make sure it is properly mounted. It is possible the shutter becomes dislodged and is only partially activating the laser shutter blocking plate.

In the image below the right door is closed and the shutter is all the way to the front of the machine:


In the image below the right door is open and the shutter is moved towards the rear of the machine:

In both images the shutter is snug up against the sheet metal.
The part number for the shutter is FC5-1533-000.......

Intermittent E100-0001 and E110-0002 Error Codes / 0B00 Jam Code / Black Images : iR4570 Series / iR3045 Series / iR3245 Series

• <LI type=disc>When making copies the error E100-0001, E110-0002 would occur intermittently. This occurred between 1 in 100 to 1 in 1000 prints. <LI type=disc>Jam code 0B00 occurs when feeding paper continuously.
• Black copies/ prints.

Cause

• <LI type=disc>Defective Laser Scanner Assembly, Main Power Supply or DC Controller. <LI type=disc>The ground spring to the registration roller not making proper contact with the roller.
• The spring was bent backwards far enough that it was making contact with the Transfer Roller causing black copies.

Action
Before replacing any of the above parts check the condition of the grounding spring on the steel registration roller. If found to be bent reform or replace the Leaf Spring (FC5-1564-000).

I replaced the ground spring. The shutter is working perfect. I even held the shutter toward the front of the machine while running and still get the code.

It's been awhile, but I think the HVPS causes this. This is the one that mounts vertically between the rear frame and fixing assy. and has contacts for the transfer roller and has a black cover. It's actually the yellow cables that come out right above the hopper or under finisher. But, you have to pull the whole PS to get at this cable. I believe it gets pinch/striped when the Finisher is installed. I believe you can just replace the cable, but wait to you see how long it takes to pull out the PS. Sorry, don't have p/n's right now. Good luck. Post results.

Workaround :
Although the Main Power Supply, Controller Power Supply, DC Controller, Laser, and Drum, were replaced for this issue, the Accessories Power Supply Pcb. resolved the problem (Part number FK2-0338-000).
