    cannon ir3530 error code 602-001

I have a cannon ir 3530 and I just put in a ufr II/PCL printer kit e2. On boot up it comes up with an error code 602-001 do I need to format the hd? Does anyone know how to resolve this problem, I have re-seated the hd and still the same code. any help would be great, thanks

Ok, Did you load the sys software that came with the Print Kit?
If not, that has to be done first.
It has to be done as a batch download because the Boot rom and all the software has to be loaded in order to upgrade the 30 series to print.
    Good Luck!

with a 602-001 the HDD usually needs to be replaced the reflash the machine.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

You have to use the Canon Service Support tool program ver 3.0 or higher.
This software can be found (usually on the CD with the machine System Software). There should be a folder on the CD called SST. In this folder is the Support tool and the Manual how to install it and how to use it. Download the SST to a laptop and follow the directions in the SST manual.

Flashing the HDD of the copier will take about 45 mins. The SST will prompt you as the download progresses. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine!

Yes that is true, however the 30 series do-not come with a HDD. They are an upgrade when you add the print kit. The HDD in the kit is blank. You get the 602 code because the machine is detecting the newly installed empty HDD. It still needs to be formatted and loaded with the System software.

Also be sure the HDD is getting power. No power to the HDD will cause a 602-001. I hope you are familiar with the SST. Experienced techs have trouble with it if they haven't done their homework.

AAHHH I should have read more closely. you're probably correct with a new set-up.

I upgrade or flash machines several times a week. If you take your time you will be fine!

I don't do a lot of the flashing myself, but I believe the software is on the CD and you need to load it onto the SST before you can use it.

OK, First you have to register the Sys software from the CD.
Put the CD in your drive, look at that drive in the support tool,
click search, all the correct files will be selected, click register.
The SST will copy those files and they will appear in the model window.
2 things to look for: Select ALL_HDF first to format the newly installed HDD and the Copier has to be in Safe download mode:Turn of copier,
hold down the 2 & 8 buttons, turn on machine (it should go right into DOWNLOAD). Make sure you are connected from the laptop to the machine with a Cat5 CROSSOVER cable.
                        GOOD LUCK!

yes you will find sys software in the printer kit box. 1st you need to register the files to the SST and after that will be able to do the sys download according to the procedure .

                            IMO

Perhaps I missed something, but when I read he was going to use a USB cable to load system software (a USB, not a Nethawk) - well I think it is time for him to call a tech as he is on the wrong page - AND - not all the advice he is getting is correct.

No problem with users that want to perform simple routine maintenance, but installing a printer kit and loading system software takes a little training.

My story and I will stick to it.
