    Canon IR 8500

    Please help!!

Not a canon dealer {Ricoh,Kyocera} but of course we just had to take on 10 8500's to get future buisness.

Have one of them with no display. Dont have manuals yet but they are on the way. machine turns on and functions though.

Are there any common things that go wrong with these displays such as the lcd's or panel control pcb's.

    Any help would be apriciated.

Check the main controller in the back, check the bootrom and dimm chips and connectors.

The connectors for the lcd are along the top of the main controller..also...check the control panel assembly itself for a blown fuse....especially since the machine comes to a ready state after initial rotation.
Like screwy said...check the bootrom...it may have been overlooked if the machine had a print kit removed.
