I know this machine is certainly more of a throw away model, but I was hoping there might be a simple fix. i've had the printhead out and cleaned/checked it, but nothing obvious.
Any help appreciated!

This issue can occur when there is a loose object stuck inside the printer or if one of the ink tanks is not seated correctly. Try the following:
1. With the printer cover open, unplug the power from the back of the printer or the wall outlet.
2. Check for loose objects or packing material in the printer and remove them if necessary.
3. Try gently moving the ink tank holder as close to you as possible. Try pushing down on the closest ink tank. Once it clicks into place, try moving the ink tank holder closer, repeating if necessary. If you encounter resistance, do not attempt to move the ink tank holder any further.
