irC5800 System Software

Hello,

I have a C5800 and it's system software was corrupted last year, the local dealer came out and reloaded it.

It's happened again, it hangs at the startup screen of "Wait" -- is there anyway I can reload the software?

His notes say this:

Format HDD, (Bootdev Only), reload system, Language, RV1. Copier Functional, Finish Firmware upgrade (all versions match).

He did this and charged $1000.00

I'm technically competent, and can do what he did -- I just need the source files. Canon refuses to help, says I have to go through a dealer. Seeing how the machine is not work more than $4k, I am reluctant to pay another $1000 for them to do it again.

Do yourself a favor, if you are going to embark on this project, don't waste your time trying to re-image the hard drive currently in the copier. The thing has failed twice now. Replace the hard drive before you go to the trouble of reloading software.
