IC 2200 - Check Printer ERROR

    IC 2200
Have never worked on this machine before, but when you try and make a copy, it runs and makes a blank page. Scanner does not move to scan the image with either the doc feeder or putting the page on the glass. It does not jam, but gives a Check Printer ERROR. Have check the switches on the right side and they are working. What do I look for?

    Thanks

    Hi Kuby,

I saw your message here and over at that "other" place. I have not had to work on one of these in many years, Thank God!! Gathering the error message from the beasty is quite a protracted process that I never got very good at. This machine is more fax than copier in it's design, and so working with the menuing system was difficult. Even with the manual, it is hard to acertain what the problems were. I recall the symptom that you described happening repeatedly on one of the units I had to maintain. I was not trained other than trial by fire. My unit used to do this because of a bad fixing film, temp problem, I suppose.

RG5-3530-000 was the part number for the fix film asm, from some notes I have stuffed in the manual.

That is my down and dirty answer to your problem. I hope it is helpful.
