IRC 3220 Issues after changing drums

I recently changed both cyan and magenta drums on this machine and now it takes forever to go ready. Once it does, make a copy and it goes to print but takes forever then says suspended. Open front cover and re position everything then system monitor blinks error. Re-start and when I open any cover I get error in system monitor. Should I clear DC CON? Any advice would be appreciated.

Have a look in Service mode and see if any error codes are being reported and let us know.

Did the pull strips come out completely from the new drums? What does the #10 test print look like? Unrelated to the drums, is the fuser coming up to temp?

Did you put back the old drums to see if its the one of the drum units you have replace. Also if you clear DC and you are unable to print out a P-Print to reinput values, that would not be a good idea. Chances are it would not help your situation anyway but make it worst. When the machine is in suspended mode its usually fuser related as Mr fixit stated and also could drum related or if you have any accessories, like a finisher check the stapler.

I put in old drums and same issues. I will try and detach finisher and see if that helps the situation. Fuser hasn't had any issues and I'm not getting any error codes, just suspended and error in system monitor. I'm going to look at machine in a couple hours and report back. Thanks guys.

It was the finisher giving me the problem. Thanks Screwtape. I have a couple more issues. First, when pull scanning, if they do more than 20 pages the machine times out and will not send the scan. Second, I'm still having print quality issues with cyan and magenta. I cleaned the blade, do you think the transfer belt might be the problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

If the belt itself were the issue, all colors would be affected. What is the age on the belt and 4 transfer rollers? I always replace the transfer rollers in the ITB at the same time as the belt. It really sounds more like a roller issue or in the contacts to the ITB for transfer bias.

              good luck

What kind of copy quality issues. How are you confirming that your copy quality issue is referring cyan and magenta?

                Banding,
                smudging,
                streaks,
                overtoning,
                registration,
                ???

Normally I do a PG5 test print to produce a full A4 halftone sheet for each color.
I'd normally say that it's your drums being past their use by date but they're new drums so I'd be changing the Cyan and Magenta transfer rollers inside the ITB assy.
