Well... lets start with this... has this ever worked? Did it stopped working after you changed/upgraded servers, after IT tech did maintanance, after you changed ISP? Did you get this copier from another company, other office, off of eBay? These errors would usually be generated because something has changed. Please respond with complete history.
FYI, to send with Universal Send, you need IP Address, Subnet Address, Gateway Address, and either a correct path with user log-in for sending to a file on computer/server, or you will need DNS server information, e-mail server and good e-mail address for copier to send to e-mail. Bear in mind, if you previously had a folder path setup that used to work and now it does not, you probally have a firewall change or recently installed a program like Norton Internet Security which by default blocks all incoming connections. The glass maybe half full, but less is more...

No i ever sent any thing from my machine to computer after purchasing it. I dont know how to send a scanned file to computer. I have done all the Tcp/ip settings in both the copier and computer. i have made network wizard run in my computer and have a shared folder. having the same gateway address and DNS in both.i can view my shared folder from my machine using windows SMB network option in the address to sent , but i cannot sent it to my shared directory. Iget the error message.Comment

Sounds like a firewall/security program. Turn off Windows Firewall to troubleshoot this and/or allow the IP address to have permission in Norton Internet Security. I don't believe its a log-in thing, since you can view the folder from the copier. However, if you are not fully sharing the folder and are not allowing everyone or all users full control, than you will see it but not be able to send to it. Check these two things. The glass maybe half full, but less is more...

Well... can you try another PC? I would try to isolate it to that PC blocked incoming traffic. I would recheck your settings, are you on the same subnet, same gateway (shouldn't matter), and close IP node (100.10.1.101 is the copier and 100.10.1.55 is the PC). There are some additional concerns with SMB, but they really shouldn't be an issue anymore unless you are running something older than Win 2k. It maybe time to call a Canon tech or an IT company. However, many times IT companies are not familar with Universal Send. If you had a contract with a Canon dealer, most of the time they would diagnose this problem under contract and at least tell you if its the machine or your PC. Good luck.
