    iRC5180 squeaky, keeps returning...

Recently I had 3 iRC5180/4080 machines start to squeak and annoy customers. In all cases I used the part check for the Main Motor (#1) to find the squeak. It was in the transfer belt ass'y. When I removed it and turned it by hand, in each case I heard the squeak. So, on a hunch I removed one of the black plastic bushings at the end of the roller shafts and put a very thin layer of silicon grease on the inner surface. In all cases except one the problem stayed away.

However, one 5180 keeps getting the squeak. Each time I remove more bushings and grease them. When I put the ITB ass'y back in, the problem is gone - for the moment. This machine has the modification with the new style bracket so the belt doesn't rub and cause PCQ.

    Anyone fought this?

    Thanks!

Noise from the ITB Assembly usually occurs when the Transfer Belt wanders and the rib starts rubbing against the plastic on the end of the roller. This is generally caused by the belt having stretched with age, and replacing the belt is the only reliable cure. If the belt is relatively new, then reposition it carefully, making sure the rib is clear of the plastic bushing. Also ensure that the tensioning plates are tightened properly without any play.

One other thing to look for is the pads by the fan duct, under the ITB Belt. removed the belt and then remove the two pads. noise gone

easy fix/ remove ITB belt/ remove the two foam pads/ clean off gummy surface on area where they were/ NEVER PUT THEM BACK ON/

***reminder never lube it this ITB UNIT/ not needed
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
