I got IR3300 it shows the error message of e602 - 003,hard disk error,
I made diagnosis by pressing 1 and 9 at start,Still same Problem Continous!!
I need to reinstall hard disk , ,I Dont know the procedure,I dont have any manual for this will you please help to solve this problem, Please sent me the manual file , and service software to my mail ID : virgo_millenium@yahoo.com, , There is no service engineer support for this in our place,

Hard disk error

Hi Suresh,

I am a canon tech in australia, I thought I would let you know the details of your problem.

Your hard disk needs to be replaced!! E602-003 is a bad sector read on the hdd, if you restart the machine it may work for a while but it WILL come back.

You need canon part number WM2-5230-000 (not sure how you would get it) it needs to be installed in the back of the machine at the top of the main body after the back cover has been removed.. Once this is done you dilemma begins, Canon uses a program called "service support tool (SST)" which is only a canon issued program, this program is the tool used to update all the software and firmware in iR devices. This can only be connected to a 2200 machine via usb to centronics cable with a "nethawk driver" driving the cable. Then SST need to have the firmware for the 2200 series registered (it does not come together) within SST, then connect cable and turn the machine on at the switch on the right hand side WHILE holding keys 2 & 8 together, this will give you a black screen which only shows "DOWNLOAD MODE" in the lower part of the screen. Then the machine is ready to accept the data. SST is extremely touchy, so if anything is not right you will get a lovely pink screen in SST saying an error code. To correctly set up the hard drive you must first format the HDD from within SST, then install the BOOT and SYSTEM versions (boot must be "N" at the end of it's version eg. 37.44N to be a printer or a stand alone copier will have a "C" at the end. You must pick the right one or you will not be able to print (if it has a PCL kit installed in the machine).

After all Boot, system, language, fax versions are installed restart the machine, wait for a couple of minutes intil all that data is written to the HDD and it will pup up ready to go.

I got nethawk driver, The file is DMG file, How to extrract it??? how to install this driver?? please tell me the procedure? to connect via nethawk driver from PC to MAchine, I got centronics cable to connect, but i need the procedure,
is this nethawk driver is for this centronics cable ??
what is canon part number WM2-5230-000 ??
how it looks like, is it a one more board connected with motherboard(with small ram like chip)
please tell the procedure to install the driver and sent the software inside my machine

CanonTech has told you the correct procedure except, you can use a "Centronics" cable to connect your PC or laptop to the 2200. If you have a printer port on the back of your PC, you don't need the NetHawk Driver. Just connect like you're conncting a printer. As he said before That's the easy part. You need to replace the HDD and then you need the 2200 system software to load into the SST. Once you get that, then you can begin the process of formatting the drive and then loading the system software.

Now that you have the software, you need to register the 2200 software into the SST. Open the SST and and select Register. Then to the right you'll see a drop down menu. From this Menu you'll need to select the software. Before you continue, is the system software in an .iso format? If so, you'll have to burn it to a CD for the SST to be able to access the software. It will not read the software in the .iso format from your PC.

i got a canon system service cd for IR Series inside this i can see three folders first folder is named as IR2200,IR2200H, IR2200N (inside IR2200 there are five folders inside that are boot rom, hdformat, message, Rui,System.(inside boot rom folder there are two files (iR2200-XXxx0928-134F-BOOT.PRG and iR2200-XXxx0928-BOOT.ift) i dont know how to execute this files...and inside hdformat folder (iR2200-XXxx0007-HDFormat.ift) named file is there...and in other folders also .prg , .ift files are there , now how can i execute this files to my IR3300 machine hard disk,... the machine is connected via a parallel port, is there ant software to run this file from my PC to Machine,...??? please help me

Let me know if the procedure I sent you works out. As Canontech said, the SST can sometime be tempermental, so if you get the Pink Screen of Death, don't worry. Just try again, by loading the patches seperately.

You appear to have the correct software. Did you install the service support tool which is a separate software application? The only way you can use those system software files is through the use of the service support tool. Load the Service Support Tool on your PC and THEN you have to register the system software using the service support tool. Please follow the procedure I sent you through private message.
