Hi, Could you tell me how to solve the problem of IRC3220 DC controller. I have one copier still showing prepare new toner cartridge with the following 4 color After the DC controller being changed. I found without any figure on the display DENS. All 0 or 0.00%. If this DC controller is damaged or we need to do something after replacement. I have tried to reset DC-CON but no use. Thanks

Why did u have to replace the DC controller in the first place ???
That message prompt can be turned off /that is for customers/ just as low paper mode prompt
u also need to put in the DCON numbers from Data sheets under door panel/
When Replacing the DC Controller PCB
1) After replacing the DC controller PCB, use the following service mode to initialize the
memory of the DC controller PCB:
COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>DC-CON
2) Enter the settings indicated on the service label using the following service mode:
COPIER>ADJUST>LASER>PVE-OFST
COPIER>ADJUST>FEED-ADJ>REGIST
COPIER>ADJUST>FEED-ADJ>ADJ-REFE
COPIER>ADJUST>CST-ADJ>MF-A4R
COPIER>ADJUST>CST-ADJ>MF-A6R
COPIER>ADJUST>CST-ADJ>MF-A4
3) Turn off and then on the main power switch.
4) Make the following selections in service mode: COPIER>FUNCTION>LASER>LADJ-
0.
5) Press the OK key. (The machine starts auto adjustment and will indicate ‘END’ at its
end.)
Now check>
During normal servicing of the machine it is important to turn the main power switch off prior to unplugging connectors, failure to do so can result in damaging circuits and degrading or blowing fuses on the fuse pcb.
Now check>
This can indicate a problem with FU27 on the fuse pcb. The indication to replace all four toner cartridges can be a result of low voltage output from this fuse (ie: 5vdc on one side and 2vdc on the other indicates a bad fuse). To check the fuse use frame ground for your volt meter negative lead and measure both sides of the fuse for 5vdc, if it measures anything other than 5vdc replace the fuse pcb. You can also check the output of this fuse at connector J64 pin 5, this 5vdc is supplied to the dc controller.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.** -
Thanks for your help and I will try to solve on tomorrow.
The reason why we try to replace the dc controller as I had another copier which had no black color on the paper and we checked both on toner unit and drum unit had no problem. so we tried to change the DC controller and the copy was improved.
But this time is difference, I belive the problem is on the high voltage socket, but unlucky, I wrongly replace the DC Controller, When I place it back, it gives me a good present.Comment

when u have a missing or poor single color/ check your ITB Transfer unit/ remove black belt & check the primary chg.- roller positions for effected color/ they should all sit up on both ends/ the plastic end pieces can crack-will cause the primary roller to drop & cause CQ issues**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

hi teckat , the no black color copier had been tried to replace the ITB Transfer unit for testing and found the same, so we tried to replace the DC controller.
According to your experience, In which circumstances we need to consider the problem maybe related to DC controller. Is it possible to have IRC5180i technical information. as I want to know more about their different. I found that the structure is same as IRC3220.Comment

A developer drive assembly can cause this dropping out color issue.
Developer bias, HVT or the primary transfer roller as teckat noted can cause this as well, plus the laser.
Do you have any E100,110 under error history in service mode?
Here's a tip to see if the drum unit is moving. You can confirm the black developer assembly is not driving by putting a drop of white out on the Developer coupling. The developer coupling is located on the rear of the drum unit. Remove the drum unit and mark the developer coupling. Make a copy and see if the coupling has moved. If the coupling has not moved it is due to the DC Controller not giving the drive command.
Which you have replaced or swapped?

if u remove all the Drums/ ITB UNIT/ & toner cartridges/ look inside machine cavity at those couplings/ sitting on back frame/each color has them/ check your BLACK - to see if one is missing
