    Canon IR3300 HDD GONE HELP!

    Canon IR3300

Hi all, bit of a pickle here.
We are a computer support company and we have a very picky clinent that insists that he wants this copier fixing.
basicly the HDD has gone. i know its not as simple as plugging another one in - but can someone advise
how i would prepare the new HDD ??
is it placing files on it, do you have to flash it or something else?
    can someone help?
    thanks a lot

            did u receive an E 602 code on ir3300 /?
do u see a progress bar on control panel when u turn on copier ?

If progress bar stops at the half-way point. and no E-Codes are displayed and the machine remains in this condition indefinitely.> could be a bad Memory Dimm

            Try HD Check
HD-Check is a new utility included in the latest BOOT ROM versions for all the imageRUNNER-IR Series. This utility performs a scandisk similar to that available in Windows 98 and can be executed while powering on the unit. To execute this function, hold down the '1' and '9' keys on the keypad and power on the imageRUNNER. Keep pressing '1' and '9' for approximately 6 to 8 seconds until a flashing light appears on the upper left corner of the control panel. HD-Check will last about 15 to 20 minutes until the dark blue, blank screen changes to a light blue, blank screen. 'HDCheck' ends if no fault is encountered or specific sectors have automatically been repaired, bringing up the Download Mode screen. At times, a sector error occurring when the power is turned off while data is being written to the HDD will indicate 'E602-0003' and prevent the machine from entering service mode. If such is the case, use the HD check to fix the problem.
HD-Check can also be executed from service mode. This function is located under COPIER>FUNCTION>SYSTEM>HD-Check. It will run in combination with a Check-TYPE. Check-TYPE will determine the partition being checked. If Check-TYPE:0, the HD-Check will scan the entire hard drive. Please note that HD-Check will display 100% almost immediately and will flash 100% for about 15 to 20 minutes until the entire hard drive is checked. During that time it seems as if the imageRUNNER is locked. DO NOT POWER OFF the unit until HD-Check=OK!

I think NWRSINC.com has HDDs already formatted. All you have to do is pop it in and turn the machine on.
Otherwise call a tech because he has the software to format the drive in the machine.
              Good Luck.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
