I can print but not scan; Canon IR3100CN

I can print and copy but cannot scan even though the Scanner is online and the UFR says the scanner interface is "Ready".

The machine is configured to run off a fixed IP address and I was able to scan no problems until yesterday. I flashed new firmware to update the RUI and I cannot scan anymore....

ScanGear Tool is installed but cannot find the printer....any advice?

    any Error codes ???

    Check items below
    4. Turn OFF the main power switch, and check & connect the DDI cable.
SCANTYPE setting depends on Reader model
    Service mode > COPIER > Option > BODY > W/SCNR: from '0' to '1'.
    - Service mode > COPIER > Option > BODY > SCANTYPE: from '1' to '0'

    5. Turn the main power switch ON.

Do you have a anti-virus program running, check firewall settings if you do.
Also what version of the network scangear tool are you using?

You cleared DCCON for a print and scan issue, humm
DC-controller usually controls laser, motors, clutches.
MCON usually maintains print and scan functions.
But if you say it did, I guess strange things do happen.

Is it scan to folder or scan to email? If it's scan to folder, check that the active directory password for the copier has not changed on the server. If this changes, which it will do if the setting for it not to expire is turned off, then the machine will not be able to access the folder where the scans are to go into.

Hello people....sorry to get back to with a reply so late! Basically i reloaded all the firmwares and *I THINK* it was DCON that fixed the problem....altough it did hang for ages after writing to it. I then re-loaded system firmware and it started working again. Maybe pot luck!
In any case it's working now! Strangest thing ever though as i could print and use the feeder and fax AND scan to mailbox or fax....strange!

I pretty much doubt DCON fixed that issue,
But glad to hear that your up and running.
